MECCANICA is a residential complex with an industrial component at the base, located at East 1st Avenue and Quebec, in the Southeast False Creek community of Vancouver. 170 thoughtful homes are spread throughout the tower situated at the corner of the block, and a five and a half storey wing building. The two components are joined by a 4-storey high glass enclosed bridge over a breezeway. This project reflects the neighbourhood’s past with an industrial yet modern design, inspired by the replica Porsche roadsters hand-crafted on this very same site, ultimately saving the manufacturing function of the original location.
